The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE celebrated the anniversary of the Philippine Independence at the Dar El Istiqbal Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Intercontinental Abu Dhabi. The event was also a venue for various Filipino artists to showcase their wonderful works and creations.

Anna Dominique Rubio, a celebrity bag designer based in Manila, had her creations transported from the Philippines to Abu Dhabi to take part in the exhibit. Her elegant collection was one of the highlights of the exhibit. Foreign guests who were present during the Independence Day celebration showed great appreciation and interest on the clutch bags presented.

The unique handmade designer bags are 100% Filipino products. The raw materials such as shells, rattan, native woven fibers and pearls used all came from the Philippines. Anna Rubio’s custom-made bags are patronized by Filipino actresses like Liza Soberano, Julia Montes, Jodi Sta. Maria and Vina Morales to name a few.

The AR bags will be exhibited at the Millennium Hotel Corniche Abu Dhabi from June 5 to 11 together with the paintings and photos crafted by Filipino artists based in the UAE. The exhibit is one of the projects of the Philippine Ladies Circle Abu Dhabi, headed by Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, which aims to promote the Filipino tourism, food, culture and craftsmanship.
