Ambassador Constancio R. Vingno Jr. And Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno with the delegates from The Philippine Global School Ms Raslyn Agatha Harrison, Ms Ruby O. Awad, Principal Lizabeth Comia and Senior student Kurt Narciso

04 July 2016 – Two Filipino Schools in the UAE shined and brought honor to the Philippines and the UAE after winning at the 2016 World Scholar Cup (WSC) Global Rounds. The event was held last June 25th-30th in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Philippine Emirates Private School (PEPS) and The Philippine Global School (TPGS) Abu Dhabi joined the competition with 30 students who represented their respective schools. An estimate of 3,200 students worldwide competed to qualify for the WSC Tournament of Champions which will be held in Yale University this coming November. The Senior delegation of PEPS and the Junior team of TPGS together with other qualified scholars will all go to Connecticut, USA to be the official contingents representing the Filipinos based in the UAE.

Out of the nine PEPS delegates, the school got a total of 12 medals while TPGS, with 21 representatives, got 27 medals ranging from bronze to gold awards. But on top of it all, the whole Filipino delegation from both schools gained new friends, learnings and a once in a lifetime experience no one will ever forget.

An Alpaca souvenir was handed to Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno which is the official representation of WSC. It symbolizes the success garnered by the young scholars who proved to the world that the Filipinos can always make it big anywhere.
